Glen Mohawk Seniors meet

GLEN — The regular meeting of the Glen Mohawk Seniors was called to order by President Joe Mancini at 10:30 a.m. on Nov. 10. The morning prayer was given by Chaplin Allan Taylor along with a moment of silence for the passing of our Honorary Member Ralph Mac Laughlin. The Pledge of Allegiance to the Flag was recited by all members.

Vice President Gloria Kimball took roll call.

The Secretary’s Report was read by Joe Mancini, no corrections were made. A motion to accept the secretary’s report was made by Peg Labarge and second by Phyllis Smith. A vote was taken and the secretary’s report was accepted as read by the membership.

Treasurer Olive Taylor read the treasurer’s report. No exception of the reading of the report was taken by the membership.

Secretary of Communications, Phyllis Smith, said cards were sent out to Ruth Burk who was injured by a fall and a condolence card was sent to Betty Mac Laughlin for the passing of her husband.

Committees:

Trip Chairwoman, Lu Wilmot, had no additional information for future trips at this time.

Chairwoman for the Christmas Party, Charlene Fonda, reviewed the attending list for the party and the luncheon selections.

Committee Leader for fund raiser, Judy Russo, passed out RADA catalogs to the membership so that orders can be submitted in a timely manner ( Dec. 8 deadline) so products can be received before Christmas.

Food was collected and distributed to FFSC for the back pack program. An important part of organization.

New Business:

Vice President Gloria Kimball, passed out various size calendars for the upcoming year. Also, passed out various treats, and other church offerings supplied by the Reformed Church. A special thanks goes to Cara Bruno, the membership truly appreciates her kindness.

Trivia/Readings:

Charlene Fonda reminded us of Veterans Day and the sacrifice our servicemen have made for our freedom. Also, Charlene did a Thanksgiving trivia reading which included many interesting events.

Adjournment:

Motion to adjourn was made by Esther Porcello and second by Joan Daley. Motion to adjourn was passed. Next meeting will be held on Nov. 17.

Chaplin Allan Taylor gave the closing prayer. Meeting ended at 11:30 a.m.
