ACH Walk to stop gun violence set for Oct. 3
GLOVERSVILLE – The Anthony Christopher Harris Foundation, Inc. will host the “ACH Walk to Stop Gun Violence” happening Oct. 3 at 1 p.m. in Gloversville.
The walk begins at Price Chopper in Gloversville, proceeds down Main St. to 21 Grand St. in Gloversville.
The Anthony Christopher Harris Foundation also known as ACH Foundation, was incorporated on Oct. 29, 2019, as a non-profit organization.
In May 2020, the foundation was granted 501 c 3 status.
The ACH Foundation, Inc. was organized as a legacy to the ideals and principles that personified the life of Anthony Christopher Harris, son of Denise Ameyaw.
Ameyaw is a longtime resident of Gloversville. Her son, Anthony died of gun violence in Washington, D.C. on June 1, 2019. He was 39 years old when he died and his birthday is on Oct. 3.
The Mission of the Anthony Christopher Harris Foundation, Inc. is to empower the families of gun violence resulting in death by providing essential aid caused by the tragedy.
The aid that will be provided would be help with traveling expenses, food, shelter and scholarships for members of the immediate family, i.e. parents, guardians, children and in some cases siblings.
The walk is designed to announce the Anthony Christopher Harris Foundation, Inc. and to bring community awareness of the non-profit organization.
