Memorial Day parade canceled

BROADALBIN — The Commander of the Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 8690 in coordination with the village of Broadalbin, has made the difficult decision to cancel the Memorial Day Parade and services in Broadalbin originally scheduled for Monday, May 25 due to the pandemic. It is truly regrettable but we cannot risk the spread of this virus.

This decision comes with a great deal of sadness because the Memorial Day Ceremony is the annual event where we pause to honor and give thanks to all the veterans who paid the greatest sacrifice, their life, for this country.

Displaying an American flag at your house on Memorial Day is a good way to show your support to our Veterans and active duty service persons.

We will honor all our veterans past and present privately.
