Paddle the Mohawk scheduled for June 6
AMSTERDAM — The Erie Canalway National Heritage Corridor will be having this year’s paddle the Mohawk Valley from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. June 6, at the Schoharie Crossing State Historic Site to paddle the Mohawk Valley River through locks 11 and 12, according to a news release.
This half day excursion will feature scenery, two canal locks, historic structures, and canal islands along the Mohawk River and Erie Canal. There will be guides to lead the paddlers on this 5.5 mile trip.
There will be a complimentary catered lunch and celebration at noon at Port Jackson. The registration fee is $25. Register by June 1. Kayak rentals will be available.
