Montgomery County seeking nominations to recognize small businesses
FONDA — Montgomery County will be accepting nominations for a new monthly series focusing on small businesses, according to a news release.
In recognizing the locations and businesses that not only make the county special but are giving back to the community, Montgomery County Executive Matthew L. Ossenfort and the Montgomery County Business Development Center are launching a new Small Business of the Month award.
The awards will recognize local businesses with 20 employees or less who are nominated for demonstrating a commitment to the vitality of their community and the Montgomery County economy. Those interested in nominating a small business can do so by e-mailing a few short paragraphs about the business to Vincenzo Nicosia at VNicosia2@Co.Montgomery.NY.US.
“Montgomery County has something for everyone. This is a great opportunity to recognize those institutions that make our county unique. When you take time to look around, you see character is everywhere. Creating jobs, investing in our communities and helping others in need are just a few of the things that come to mind when you think about a small business. I’m looking forward to connecting with some of our great local employers that are truly the backbone of our economy,” said Ossenfort.
“Small businesses are the lifeblood of the American workforce, and Montgomery County’s economy. They are driving our economy and creating opportunities. This recognition is the chance to share our appreciation with the businesses we all rely upon every day,” said Montgomery County Business Development Center Chief Executive Officer Ken Rose.
The selected businesses will receive a visit from Ossenfort, an appreciation award and promotional recognition.
