Quilt guild scheduled to meet on Monday

GLOVERSVILLE — The Sew Busy Quilt Guild of Gloversville Sit and Sew meeting will be held on Monday from noon to 3 p.m. in Ottaviano Hall at the Church of the Holy Spirit, 161 S. Main St.

Participants may engage in an open sew or two other projects, as follows:

∫Karen’s Balsam Treasures: sachets, door hangar, pillows and more.

Bring these items:

Cotton, linen, wool or upholstery fabric the size of the project.

Hand-sewing supplies (to close the project seam).

Any embellishments to attach.

∫The Missouri Star Quilt Company English Garden Quilt Block.

Bring these items:

Sewing machine and basic supplies (a rotary cutter would be very helpful).

10-inch fabric squares– four print, four background solid, 32 two-and-a-half-inch squares for centers.

Irons, ironing boards, large cutting mat and some rulers (including the Clearly Perfect Slotted Trimmer) are available.

In planning fabrics, the quilt pattern calls for 30 blocks, and the group will be making four of those. An extra 10-inch print square to share with the guild would be helpful. Helpful be available to bring machines in and out of your cars.

Guests are welcome with $3 admission. The building is handicapped accessible.
