Polish Donut Day slated for Feb. 22

AMSTERDAM — The Polish American Veterans, 56 Church St., will hold a public Paczki — Polish Donut Day– on Saturday, Feb. 22, from 9 a.m. until the doughnuts run out.

Proceeds will be going to the Leather Stocking Honor Flight.

Among the Polish in the United States, Paczki Day normally takes place the Tuesday before Ash Wednesday.

The Polish doughnuts will be available for sale at PAV and during the radio broadcast. Flavors available are Bavarian and chocolate kreme, jelly, apple and strawberry and are sold in four and six packs in addition to dozen orders. Presale must be in by Feb. 19 by calling (518) 842-3909.

To start things off — the Polka Magic Radio Network will be on location at the PAV for a live radio broadcast starting at 9 a.m. on radio stations WCSS 1490AM/106.9FM, WKAJ 1120AM/FM 97.9FM, WSPN FM91.1 and Polish New Castle Radio.com (polishnewcastleradio.com) in addition to the Tunein application on a smart phone. Christine Mary, John “Lil-Jas” Lesniewski and the Crew will be playing the best in Polish/polkas during the broadcast.
