Documentary to be screened on Feb. 25

BROADALBIN — A screening of the documentary “Most Likely to Succeed” will be held at 6 p.m. Feb. 25, in the Margaret Robin Blowers auditorium at Broadalbin-Perth High School as part of the school district’s LifeReady community forum series.

“Most Likely to Succeed” is a feature-length documentary that examines the history of education in the United States and reveals the growing shortcomings of conventional education methods in today’s innovative world, according to a news release. The film explores new approaches that aim to revolutionize teaching as we know it, inspiring school communities to re-imagine what students and teachers are capable of doing.

“Most Likely to Succeed” has been an official selection of two dozen of the world’s top film festivals, including Sundance and Tribeca.

Members of the district leadership team watched the movie as part of their work, which includes reviewing research, brainstorming and discussing what skills and knowledge students need to be successful after high school. As a result of this work, district leaders are considering updating Broadalbin-Perth’s graduation requirements for the first time in more than 30 years.

Advance registration for the screening is requested for planning purposes at surveymonkey.com/r/MLTS-BP.
