Soup’s on: Soupfest set to warm up Amsterdam Saturday

AMSTERDAM — Soups will be offered up for a hot competition during the city’s second annual Soupfest, sponsored by Berkshire Farm Center and Services for Youth, on Saturday from noon to 5 p.m.

This event will take place at various bars and restaurants throughout the entire city. All city restaurants are being encouraged to participate by preparing a soup to taste and also providing entertainment or other specials to entice patrons to come to your establishment.

Participants will pay $1 for three ounce soup samples at each location and vote at the end for their favorite soup. The winner will receive a trophy for the Most Unique and Best Soup in the City.

Soup guides can be picked up at any location with a list of all soups, entertainment, specials and a map of participating locations. They are also available at the event’s Facebook page.
