Rotary club to feature speaker
LITTLE FALLS — The Little Falls Rotary Club will have a featured speaker at the Wednesday meeting, at the Little Falls Elks Lodge, 60 N. Ann St., Herkimer County. A dinner will be available for $15, payable upon arrival and will start at 6:15 p.m., according to a news release.
The presentation will be given by Major Gen. (Retired) Peter Lennon at 7:30 p.m. and is free to attend.
Lennon began his military career as a transportation corps lieutenant after graduating from Bucknell University, Lewisburg Pa.
Lennon, whose high level military command responsibilities spanned Europe and the Middle East, had several career highlights, including implementation of the “Ready Force” concept within the U.S. Army Reserve Command. Maj. Gen. Lennon retired after 40 years of service which he spoke about during his November 2016 exit interview with the USARC historian’s office, “I am very proud to have had the opportunity to do this for almost 40 years — to have had the opportunity to influence history.”
Lennon will be discussing, “The Military Service Member of Today” and “Tapping the Power of Veterans.”
