Pet adoption event slated for Saturday

JOHNSTOWN — The third annual FurEver Homes Adoption Event will be held from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. at Harvey’s Home, Garden and Pet, 250 N. Comrie Ave., on Saturday.

This free event is a joint operation of Coldwell Banker Arlene M. Sitterly and Harvey’s.

The event will feature live music from FLAME from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. A pet costume contest will be held at 1 p.m.

Attendees can partake in face and pumpkin painting, a dog kissing booth, a variety of stews and chili, hot dogs, drinks and desserts. There will be a 50/50 raffle, as well as raffle baskets available.

Crafters and vendors will also be available with their wares. Mickey Mouse will be available for pictures too.

This is a family and dog-friendly event. Well mannered, leashed dogs are welcome. A 6-foot leash recommended, but retractable leashes should not be used.

Shelters will be there with adoptable pets. All event proceeds to benefit the shelters participating.
