Genealogical program slated for Tuesday
JOHNSTOWN — The Johnstown Chapter of the National Society of the Daughters of the American Revolution will host a program on genealogical research at Johnstown Public Library at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
The free program will introduce attendees to the genealogical resources available at the library. They will learn how to discover and explore their family history by accessing those resources.
Deborah Callery, retired acting director of the library, will speak. Callery will use her 33 years of experience at the library to share her knowledge of the historical collection and love of family history research.
The topics include what documents are available in the collection, how to access the physical items, and how to use Ancestry.com. Access to Ancestry.com is available free to library patrons for use at the library.
Attendees will gather on the mezzanine opposite the children’s collection.
