Alzheimer’s talk slated for Thursday

JOHNSTOWN — HealthLink Littauer, the community health and wellness service of Nathan Littauer Hospital and Nursing Home, will have a program on “Alzheimer’s — 10 Signs of Dementia” from 3 to 4 p.m. Thursday at its wellness center, 2 Colonial Court, according to a news release.

“Attend this interactive workshop to learn the 10 warning signs of Alzheimer’s disease and why early detection matters,” stated Meagan DeMento, program manager for the Alzheimer’s Association of Northeastern New York. “We’ll separate myth from reality and discuss commonly-held fears about Alzheimer’s and dementia.”

Immediately following the presentation, the Alzheimer’s Caregiver Group will meet at 4 p.m. This monthly discussion group is for family members or friends who care for a loved one with Alzheimer’s or dementia.

Both meetings are free and open to the public. For more information or to attend, call HealthLink Littauer at (518) 736-1120.
