Young Eagles Day slated for Saturday

JOHNSTOWN — The annual Young Eagles Day will be held from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. Saturday at the Fulton County Airport, off Route 67, weather permitting, according to a news release.

The local Adirondack Chapter 602 of the Experimental Aircraft Association will be providing free airplane rides to children ages 8 through 17. A parent or guardian must be present. A goal of the EAA is to introduce young people to flying and to spark an interest that might lead to a career in aviation. The participants will be instructed on what makes an airplane fly and how it is controlled by a pilot.
