Spirit of the Wolf Native American Festival scheduled
BROADALBIN — The 10th annual Spirit of the Wolf Native American Festival will be held on Aug. 24, from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. and Aug. 25, from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m., with a noon grand entry both days, at the VFW Pavilion, 19 Pine St.
This year the festival will feature Silk and Steel Tropical Drum Band, from Hamilton Hill Arts Center, a Schenectady cultural center promoting the knowledge, preservation and continued development of African art and culture.
Also, presenting will be Aztec Fire Dancers; Richie Olivera, Andean flute player; Lori Hawk, flute player; and the Bird of Prey show.
Join participants for a weekend of music, song, and dance from many Native Americans and African cultures.
The Spirit of the Wolf Native American Festival is a family event open to the public. Admission will be $6 for adults, $5 for seniors and free for children younger than 12. Two day passes are available at $10 for adults and $8 for seniors.
Proceeds will benefit local charities and to honor of veterans and emergency responders.
Admission is free for people in military uniform or who have an active duty military ID.
