Author to speak on GE book

GLOVERSVILLE — Michael Davi, author of a new book, “PrivileGEd — Experiences From My Unusual 40-Year Career with One of America’s Most Iconic Companies” will talk about his memoir as a 40-year General Electric engineer at 6 p.m. on Monday, Sept. 9, in the Carnegie Room of Gloversville Public Library.

He will sign his book.

“My story begins more than a century ago when my immigrant grandparents first arrived in the US from Italy,” he said in a news release. “All four grandparents worked at GE for a part of their lives.

“As a second-generation Italian-American, I was privileged to be the first to graduate college with an engineering degree and became the first professional GE employee in our family.

“The narrative contains a lot of ups and downs, plus lessons learned. My hope is that the underlying themes of resiliency and gratitude, will be an inspiration to all who read it. Further, I am leveraging the book to inspire the next generation to consider science and technology careers.
