Road closures set for 5k foot race scheduled for Saturday morning

GLOVERSVILLE — The Romano Acro Dance RAD Color Fun Run 5k road race will be held Saturday and city police are alerting motorist to road closures during the event.

According to a press release, the race will take place starting at 9 a.m., with the city police and fire department providing public safety services.

The race will start at the Romano Acro Dance Studio at 50 N. Main St. Runners will travel north on North Main Street to Tenth Avenue, where they will go onto the Rail Trail to the intersection of the Rail Trail and East Eleventh Avenue.

Runners will then turn around and travel south along the Rail Trail to the Trail Station Park, where they will cross the footbridge to Frontage Road onto Church Street and back to North Main Street.

The finish line will be where the race started at Romano Acro Dance Academy.

North Main Street from Fulton Street to Fremont Street will be closed for the duration of the race. There will be rolling road closures as the race moves along North Main Street. There will be on street parking restrictions on North Main Street prior to the start of the race, and increased pedestrian traffic can be expected along the race route.

City police are asking motorist to avoid the race route if possible.
