Hannaford and Mohawks team up for a food drive
AMSTERDAM — The Hannaford Supermarkets and the Amsterdam Mohawks will team up to support hunger relief efforts during a food drive at the team’s doubleheader against the Oneonta Outlaws on Friday at Rao Family Stadium at Shuttleworth Park, according to a news release.
The collection will begin prior to the first game at 5 p.m. and will continue through the second half of the subsequent game, which begins at 7 p.m.
The fans attending the game are encouraged to bring a non-perishable food item, which will be donated to Amen Place Soup Kitchen. The fans who donate at least three non-perishable items will receive a voucher redeemable for one ticket to a future Mohawks home game during this year’s regular season.
“Hannaford is committed to fighting hunger within the communities we serve and we are honored to partner with the Amsterdam Mohawks on this initiative,” said Hannaford Supermarkets Community Relations Specialist Brian Fabre. “We encourage baseball fans to join us for a night of action on the field while supporting the Amen Place Soup Kitchen.”
