Color splash run slated for Saturday

GLOVERSVILLE — The Paul Nigra Center for Creative Arts will hold a Color Splash Fun Run and Walk on Saturday.

Participants will walk and run on the grounds of the center, 2736 Route 30, to benefit the center.

Registration takes place from 9 to 10 a.m. The run/walk begins at 10:30 and will not be timed. Throughout the family-fun course, runners and walkers will be splashed with washable, nontoxic color dust. Fun items such as sunglasses, socks, rainbow wigs and tutus will be on sale as well as water, food concessions and music during the party.

The entry fee is $25 per person for those who preregister or $30 for those who sign up in person on the day of the event. Children 5 and younger will be admitted free and do not have to register.

The center is a year-round arts center open to the public. It houses art venues, hosts family events, and provides educational opportunities for persons of all ages and levels of ability. It also offers spaces for private parties or business events. The center was founded in 2015 by Lexington, a chapter of The Arc New York, an accredited, award-winning provider of disability services.
