Sheriff’s office to host boater safety course

JOHNSTOWN — The Fulton County Sheriff’s Office will be offering the New York State Boaters Safety Course from 4:30 to 8:30 p.m. Monday and May 23 at the Fulton County Emergency Operations Center, according to a news release.

This course is free to the public and is required for any persons born after May 1, 1996, who intend on operating a boat and any person regardless of age who intends on operating a personal watercraft.

The students must be at least 10 years of age on the date of the course; must attend all eight hours of instruction; and pass the written exam.

The seating is limited and pre-registration is required by contacting Investigator Keith M. Manners at (518) 736-2119.
