‘Waitress’ pie contest slated
SCHENECTADY — Cranberry Crumble? Shoo Fly? Lemon Chess? Plain old all-American apple?
What’s your favorite pie recipe?
The Tony Award-nominated musical “Waitress” is coming to Proctors June 11 through 16 and to celebrate Proctors, Waitress and Channel 10 announced a “Baked from The Heart: Waitress Pie Contest.”
Capital Region cooks of all kinds are invited to submit their own favorite pie recipes for a chance to win four tickets to “Waitress.”
What’s more, the winner will be crowned Friday, May 3 on a live NEWS10 ABC broadcast at The Waters Edge Lighthouse Restaurant & Inn in Glenville and the winning recipe will be inserted in Sugar, Butter, Flour: The Waitress Pie Book sold at the Waitress merchandise kiosk during the run of the show in Schenectady.
Submissions must be received by April 28. Finalists, who will compete on the morning broadcast, will be contacted directly and announced on May 1. Entrants must be 18 or older.
