Elwood Museum looks for summer intern

AMSTERDAM — The Walter Elwood Museum is looking for a self-motivated intern to work on a grant-funded history and archival project and accession of new collection donations.

The intern will be responsible for cataloging, inventorying, and researching all artifacts donated since summer 2018 by many private donors. The intern will be expected to research the items selected for immediate public display and place on display with proper script to describe.

Ability to work independently is a must. An archival, museum and/or history interest or background would be a plus. Twenty hours per week are required. Hours will be set between intern and executive director who will supervise the grant project.

Position is set to begin in May 2019 and is expected to be completed by August 2019. Internship stipend is $1,500 per month ($375 per week).

Send cover letter and resume directly to Ann M. Peconie, Executive Director, Walter Elwood Museum at 100 Church St., Amsterdam, NY 12010 or email to director@walterelwoodmuseum.org.
