Glassware on display at Frothingham Library

FONDA — The Frothingham Free Library, 28 W. Main St., announce Cherie Batcher will be displaying glassware at the library during March, according to a news release.

She will be teaching a paint and chat class at 11 a.m. Saturday at the library.

Batcher started painting in the ’90s, which evolved into a hobby in 2000. As a self-taught artist, she became interested in watching instructional shows on new and different painting techniques. She uses acrylic enamels, to paint on glass, specifically used for glass which must be cured and baked to make the paint permanent.

She retired from the Montgomery County Clerk’s Office and NBT Bank and works part time for the New York Thruway. She graduated from Johnstown High School and participated in art class and projects while there. She has been asked to design and create glasses for the 50th class reunion this summer.

Stop in the library during regular hours to view this display.
