Variety of activities to be at library

CANAJOHARIE — An Arkellebration, with a variety of free activities for all ages, will be held on Saturday and Sunday, April 13 and 14, both from noon to 5 p.m., at the Arkell Museum and Canajoharie Library, 2 Erie Blvd.

The following activities will occur:

∫ Library used book sale.

∫ Live music.

∫ Marketing the Mohawk Valley and Portraits and Landscapes exhibits.

∫ Docents to chat with about the artwork.

∫ Story time for all ages.

∫ Food and farming scavenger hunt.

∫ Animal origami.

∫ Decorate a gift box.

∫ Free raffle for a Country Doctor puzzle, a family membership, and more.

Master ballet class offered on Saturday

ALBANY — The School of the Albany Berkshire Ballet will offer a master class with Eric Otto on Saturday, open to area dancers at an intermediate or advanced level.

The 90-minute class begins at 1:30 p.m. at the school, 25 Monroe St., Suite 210, at a cost of $25. Preregistration is due on Wednesday.

Otto was born and raised in Westchester. He began dancing at the age of seven with the School of American Ballet in New York City. He has danced professionally with the New York City Ballet, American Ballet Theatre, Metropolitan Opera Ballet, Cedar Lake Contemporary Ballet and BalletX. He was an original cast member of Twyla Tharp’s “Come Fly Away,” performing the leading role of Sid. Otto was invited to join the cast of Tharp’s Movin’ Out where he starred in the Broadway and First National Tour companies as James. He has appeared on Broadway in “The Phantom of the Opera” and toured with Tharp for her 50th Anniversary. Otto will also be choreographing new work for Albany Berkshire Ballet for its 2019-20 season.

Incoming class of kindergarteners slated

FONDA — Kindergarten registration for the fall incoming class in Fonda-Fultonville School District will take place May 6 through 0.

Registration information will be mailed during the first week of April to families with students who have already been identified either through student records or local preschool enrollments. If a child will not be identified through these means, call the elementary office at (518) 853-3332, Ext. 5001.

Children must be 5 years old on or before Dec. 1 to be eligible for kindergarten registration.

Anyone who knows of a family in the district that has an eligible child, share this information with them.

Address of tax collector changed

NORTHVILLE — The Northampton town tax collector has changed her physical address for payment drop-off to 112 N. First St. on Monday and Wednesday from 9 a.m. to noon due to the recent fire at Skips’ Service Station. Payments also can be mailed to P.O. Box 484, Northville NY 12134.
