Moonlight snowshoe tour set for Jan. 19
BENSON — The Lapland Lake Nordic Vacation Center will offer a moonlight guided evening snowshoe tour from 5:45 to approximately 9 p.m. Jan. 19.
The guided tours start out with a bowl of chili and a side of cornbread at the Kuuma Feeding Station on the second floor of the main lodge building. Then participants can strap on snowshoes (also available for rent) and head out with the guides on a moonlit tour, stopping at a lakeside campfire for a snack and hot beverage. The tour leaves the lodge building at 6:30 p.m. — arrive at 5:30 p.m. if renting snowshoes.
The cost for the tour is $39 ($5 plus tax extra if renting snowshoes) — ages 18 and older. The space is limited; reservations are a must. Headlamps are strongly recommended — the center has a limited number to loan on a first-come, first-served basis.
