Silver bells tea slated for Dec. 18

JOHNSTOWN — The following is for the Shirley J. Luck Senior Center, 109 E. Main St.

All are welcome to stop in, have a cup of coffee or hot chocolate, and see the decorations at the senior center put up by the 50 Plus Club members and the center staff. The center has a mitten and hat tree to collect an assortment of hats, mittens, gloves and scarves to be donated to Johnstown schools to keep children warm this winter. For $3 anyone can purchase an angel or star ornament in memory of someone and the money will be given to the local food pantry. In addition, the center is collecting food items for the local pantry to help those in need. Bring along an unwrapped toy for the Toys for Tots box located in the dining room.

The senior center is looking forward to their silver bells tea from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Dec. 18, when we will enjoy Christmas music performed by the Canajoharie School Chorus followed by a light luncheon. Bingo with friends starts at 1 p.m. and for $1, get three cards and the chance to win a prize. Julie Passero, is here from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. to check blood pressures at no cost.
