Gettysburg trip planned for April

MAYFIELD — The Bannertown 50 Plus Seniors met on Dec. 19, for their luncheon and meeting. The Christmas pizza party was Dec. 18.

The meeting was opened by Linda LaVada, president, with the Pledge of Allegiance. The roll call was also done by LaVada.

Ann Mallin, sunshine chairman, had no need to send cards out.

Lorrie Valk, secretary, and Joan Bezio, treasurer, gave their reports and were accepted.

∫ Valk mentioned the information is available for the Gettysburg four-day trip in April. Anyone interested in the trip can call Valk at (518) 661-5339 or Bezio at (518) 725-6918.

∫ Also on the table were the new activity sheets scheduled.

∫ Those bringing cookies for the next meeting on Wednesday, will be Evie and Jeff Leach. New Year’s trivia will be played.

It was brought up that since the group does not donate for the use of the municipal building, they are going to donate to the Mayfield Fire Department. All were in favor.

The meeting adjourned and drawings were held. The winners were Nancy McWilliams, $1 and the door prize, who donated the winnings back to the club; and Bob Abraham, the 50-50, who also donated it back.

Christmas movie trivia was played.

Anyone interested can join the group anytime. They meet every other Wednesday at the Mayfield Municipal Building at 11 a.m. for a social hour before the Office for the Aging meal. The meeting starts at 12:30 p.m. and activities after that.
