Colonie Center trip signup by Dec. 6

TRIBES HILL — The Tribes Hill Iroquois Seniors began their Nov. 15, meeting at 10 a.m. with a social hour hosted by Barb Furman, Vonnie and Susan Gutowski and Rose Garguilo.

Furman, chaplain, opened the meeting with a prayer, followed by the Pledge of Allegiance and a reading entitled “Autumn Blessings.”

President Sherry Meyers announced the December birthdays: Mabel Bubbins, Dec. 16; and Vonnie Gutlowski, Dec. 27.

The roll was taken by Furman, with 26 members and two prospective members present.

The minutes were read from the Nov. 8, meeting by Barb Minch, secretary.

The treasurer’s report was read by Barb Lampkin, treasurer, which will be filed for audit.

Communications: Sherry Meyers read a thank you card from the Sanford Home for the candy jars that the club made for them.

Committee reports:

Trip: Lampkin made note of the recent trip to New York City to see the show at Radio City. She is taking signups for the next trip to Colonie Center on Dec. 6. The bus will be leaving Tribes Hill and will also pick up in Amsterdam, then proceed on to the Cracker Barrel for lunch. The bus will leave Colonie Center and drive to Washington Park in Albany to see the Christmas light show.

Sunshine: A thank you card will be sent to Stars Cafe for the items they donated to the club and also a thinking of you card to a members.

Social: Pam Jasewicz reported the Thanksgiving dinner was canceled because of the water issue at the church and will be re-scheduled for a later date. On Nov. 29, cake and ice cream will be served to celebrate the birthdays. Dec. 13, is the Christmas party at the Winners Circle. Members can bring a $10 grab bag gift if they want to participate.

Meyers announced there will be no meetings in December. She also announced the January refreshment committee: Harriet Zurlo, Genie Hojohn, Nora Olander and Anita Bush.

The 50-25-25 winners were Joel Szabo and Dolores Danelorich.

Charlene Fonda had a trivia reading Barb Lampkin shared a funny reading.

The meeting adjourned.

Furman closed the meeting with a closing prayer.

If anyone is looking for something to do on a Thursday morning from 10 a.m. until noon, and wants to meet new people, feel free to come to one of group’s meetings. They meet at 10 a.m. every Thursday at the Sacred Heart Church hall, Third Avenue, Tribes Hill and are always looking for new members
