Berkshire Fire Dept. to host dinner
GLOVERSVILLE — The Berkshire Fire Department will hold its annual roast beef dinner from 4 to 7 p.m. on Dec. 8 at Station one, 320 Steele Ave. Ext., according to a news release.
“Berkshire has been doing this roast beef dinner for over 30 years. I have people asking me all year long when is our roast beef dinner” said Deb Finkle, co-chair of the event. “I get to do the organizing, not the cooking. The guys who have been around that long are following their same recipe for years. Obviously, one that people love because they look forward to it every year.”
Along with the dinner, Santa Claus will be at the firehouse and gifts for all the children who come to the dinner.
The tickets can be purchased ahead of time by calling (518) 725-1612 (the firehouse) or can be purchased at the door. The department will also have takeout for those who prefer to take the dinner home and eat.
Besides being a fundraiser, it’s a night of a family style dinner, Santa Claus and the spirit of the holiday.
