Still time to sign up for the Beeches trip

CAROGA LAKE — The Nick Stoner Seniors held their anniversary luncheon on Tuesday, at Vrooman’s Hotel. There were 46 members and guest attending.

The committee consisted of Shirley Holliday Martha Mongato and Myrtle Dermott. Barbara Beldon recited a prayer, A prayer for each day, followed by “The Lord’s Prayer.” A moment of silence was held for the young lives that passed away at the tragic accident in Schoharie.

After lunch, those attending had cake and homemade pudding.

A raffle was held and there were several winners.

Grace Eglin announced there will be no meeting on Nov. 6, on Election Day at the town meeting room. The group will be having a bake sale from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. in the hall — have the bake goods there by 9 a.m. The seniors are also selling raffle tickets for the handmade quilt which the group will be raffling off — the quilt will be on display that day.

There is still time to sign up for the trip to The Beeches Christmas show and luncheon on Dec. 6. The cost is $51 for non-members and $41 for members; the money is to paid by the Nov. 20, meeting. The refreshment committee for the November meeting will be Marion Snell, Holliday, Eglin and Janice McLoughlin
