Radio City show to be part of next trip
TRIBES HILL — The Tribes Hill Iroquois Seniors began their Thursday, meeting at 10 a.m. with a social hour hosted by Beverly Fox and Pam and Bill Jasewicz.
Chaplain Barb Furman opened the meeting with a prayer followed by the Pledge of Allegiance and a reading entitled “Daily Blessings.”
The role was taken by Fox, vice president, with 30 members plus one prospective member present.
The minutes were read from the Aug. 9, meeting by Barb Minch, secretary, and were approved.
The treasurer’s report was read by Barb Lampkin, treasurer, which will be filed for audit.
Trip committee: Pat Schwartz reported the next trip will be Nov. 9, to New York City to see the Christmas show at Radio City Music Hall.
Sunshine: Cards will be sent to several members. A thank you card was sent to Bob Furman for the presentation he gave at the last meeting.
Social committee: Pam Jasewicz reported that on Aug. 30, members will have a make-your-own-sundae. Jeff Smith is scheduled to be the guest speaker. Sept. 6, the group will have a holiday trivia day and Sept. 27, is the bring a friend to the meeting day.
Unfinished business: Barb Furman announced that on Sept. 20, the seniors will make the Halloween snack jars for the Sanford Home. Bring in any decoration for the jars. Judy Russo is having a RADA fundraiser for the club. She will bring in catalogs at the next meeting.
New business: President Sherry Meyers announced that Katherine Downing, Olive Taylor and Sylvia Burroughs will be on the nominating committee.
The 50-50 winners were Schwartz and Rose Gargiulo.
Charlene Fonda had some trivia questions focusing on helping long term memory.
Katherine Downing, Barb Lampkin, Charlene Fonda and Elaine Hoyt has some funny readings.
Allan Taylor and Martha Hensel made a motion to adjourn the meeting.
Barb Furman closed the meeting with the closing prayer.
If anyone is looking for something to do on a Thursday morning from 10 a.m. to noon and wants to meet new people, feel free to come to one of the meetings. The group meets at 10 a.m. every Thursday at the Sacred Heart Church Hall, Third Avenue in Tribes Hill and are always looking for new members.
