Barn quilt board class set for Sept. 6

GLOVERSVILLE — The Paul Nigra Center for Creative Arts, 2736 State Route 30, will have a barn quilt board class from 6 to 8:30 p.m. Sept. 6 in the teaching kitchen. Brenda Dwyer will be the instructor. The cost is $65 — pre-registration is required. Members receive a 20 percent discount — enter the promotional code in the registration window, according to a news release.

Dwyer is back with a three-part series on how to make a mini barn quilt board. Painting symbols on barns originated from traditional folk art that celebrated heritage and brought good fortune. Learn how to create a mini barn quilt pattern on a piece of medium density overlay panel board. The participants will be able to take home their creation. This series is open to teens and adults.
