Learn to ‘self-manage diabetes’ starts today

GLOVERSVILLE — HealthLink Littauer will hold a new program titled “Diabetes Self-Management” today from 11 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. in the auditorium of Nathan Littauer Hospital, 99 E. State St.

“This six-week, evidence-based program is specifically designed for anyone with type 2 diabetes,” said Tammy Merendo, a registered nurse and Littauer’s director of community education.

“Participants will learn how to overcome barriers, manage and cope with the symptoms of diabetes to improve their overall health and quality of life,” she added.

The program is free to the public. Lunch is included and gift card incentives are available for attendance. Classes will meet weekly for six weeks through March 1.
