Caroga Lake Music Festival set

CAROGA — Caroga Lake Music Festival will hold its third concert of the Sherman’s Revival Series Saturday, (August 12) at 6 p.m. The festival’s first two concerts of the series, at the former Sherman’s Amusement Park, featured Chris Jamison (NBC’s The Voice) and Mike Block (Silk Road Ensemble). The third concert of the Sherman’s Revival Series, a four-concert series, will feature two ensembles led by bassist Geoffrey Saunders and saxophone player Patrick Bartley, Jr. The event is free and open to the public; donations benefiting the Caroga Arts Collective are welcomed.

Over the course of the festival, CLMF will showcase more than 70 professional musicians from around the world. Now in its sixth season, the festival is dedicated to increasing accessibility to chamber music and showcasing some of the world’s top young professional artists from the U.S. and abroad. The multi-genre programming makes this festival unique and exciting, from classical to jazz to contemporary music and from small ensembles to chamber orchestras. CLMF plays the majority of its performances at Caroga Lake, with concerts in Canajoharie, Cobleskill, Johnstown, Mayfield and Schenectady.

CLMF Artistic Director Kyle Price announced festival concerts include Cobleskill United Methodist Church at 7 p.m. Thursday; CLMF resident artists performance at Caroga Chapel 7 p.m., Friday, followed by Encore! Jazz Sessions with J-Music Pocket Band at Nick Stoner Inn 10 p.m. Following Saturday’s Sherman’s Revival Series concert, the fourth week of concerts in Caroga will conclude with performances by Geoff Saunders & Friends with CLMF resident artists on The Barge at Canada Lake Marina Sunday at 6 p.m.
