GLOVERSVILLE — In 1993, the American Nurses Association declared May 6 through 12 as the national week to celebrate the nursing profession. Beginning each year May 6 and ending May 12, Florence Nightingale’s birthday, the week is dedicated to all nurses. “We are always so grateful for everything our nurses do for us and our patients, even more so during the past year,” says Stephanie Fishel, RN, and chief nursing officer with Littauer. “This is our time to give them the attention and spotlight they deserve.” Especially this year, Nathan Littauer Hospital & Nursing Home is incredibly proud of its nursing care staff, and registered nurses. The healthcare organization celebrates National Nurses Week each year to show thanks to its nurses, and to remind them of their vital role in the delivery of patient care services.
