Library plans spring book and plant sale

FORT PLAIN — Save the date for the Fort Plain Free Library’s Spring Book and Plant Sale May 13; 14; and 15.

Piggybacking on the community’s village-wide garage sales that week, the library’s event will be held on library grounds from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. that Thursday and Friday, and from 9 a.m. to noon that Saturday at the landmark’s 19 Willett St. location.

Proceeds of the grassroots event go to the library’s operating budget and will be used for book purchases, programming, and general operations. In conjunction with this fundraiser, the library is still accepting applications for personalized, engraved paving stones at the new main entrance. Paving-stone contributions help pay for improvements to the facility.

Donations of clean, dry and gently-used books are gladly accepted through May 12.

Plants of all kinds are also gladly accepted, with drop-offs starting May 10.

To donate books or plants or for more information about the fundraisers, please call (518) 993-4646, email fortplainfreelibrary@gmail.com or visit the 19 Willett St. library. Please follow the Fort Plain Free Library on Facebook for more news and events.
