Giving gifts to seniors

The Fulton-Montgomery Community College Student Nurses Association each year takes on a fundraising project to support the local communities. In light of the pandemic, they have not been able to do the types of projects as in past years. This year, a group of first- and second-year nursing students reached out to local nursing homes to ask what they could do to help during the holidays. The Wilkinson Nursing Home, part of St. Mary's Healthcare system, located in Amsterdam, and the Wells House, a nursing home located in Johnstown, responded with their needs Ñ activities for their residents. Because many residents have been unable to see family members due to COVID-related restrictions, the Fulton-Montgomery Community College student nurses were able to ask for and receive donations to provide some holiday cheer to these residents. Shown are the gifts ready to be delivered to the two nursing homes. (Photo submitted)
