Libraries get grants

MECO — Assemblyman Robert Smullen announced the New York State Education Department and the New York State Library Association have approved construction awards to public libraries in the 118th Assembly District. The awards are supported throughout the state by a $34 million capital fund appropriation in the state budget.

The following are the construction awards received in the district for the local area.

∫ CVW Long Lake Public Library: $138,647 to upgrade exterior cladding, windows and doors.

∫ Northville Public Library: $5,265 to upgrade lighting fixtures.

∫ Town of Indian Lake Public Library: $11,766 to expand the library’s entrance foyer.

∫ Town of Inlet Public Library: $11,489 to replace lighting fixtures and old air conditioners.
