Mayfield resident designs winning logo
NEWTON, Mass. — Anna King, a graphic design major at Lasell University in Newton, Massachusetts, is involved with the school’s Lasell Votes initiative.
King, a resident of Mayfield, is a Lasell Votes student ambassador and graphic designer. King created a series of Zoom backgrounds for Lasell faculty and students to use.
Lasell Votes geared up on National Voter Registration Day to help eligible students prepare for the upcoming national election.
With less than 50 days until the 2020 election, Lasell Votes staff members and student ambassadors are eager to equip the community with the information and access they need to vote. Anna Sarneso, director of Brennan Library, and Byrd Hughes, associate director of the Center for Community-Based Learning, are making virtual visits to classes and offering materials for faculty to share with their students.
Before the pandemic, student ambassadors sat outside of Valentine Dining Hall and other popular areas to help community members register to vote in their home state; now, a digital forum will be held every Tuesday until the election.
On Oct. 15, Lasell Votes will partner with the Student Government Organization, Campus Activities Board and Lasell Village to host a watch party of that evening’s presidential debate. Roundtable discussions will be held virtually to encourage conversation on the topics at hand.
