Orientation for composting program

AMSTERDAM — There will be an orientation for the Compost Works Food Scraps Drop-Off Program from 6 to 7 p.m. Monday at 78 Wall St., according to a news release.

During this 45-minute orientation, those attending will learn about the problem of food scraps in the landfill; tips on preventing food waste; how the city schedule’s drop off times to continue social distancing; and what is acceptable and what is not composted by Compost Works. All compost created will benefit the 78 Wall St. community garden.

The registration will be closed two hours before the presentation begins.
