Local students graduate

ELMIRA — The Elmira College graduates had a virtual event on May 31. While the college tentatively plans to host an in-person commencement event in early to mid-August, the May event marked the original commencement date and celebrated the students’ achievements with raising the 2020 class banner, ringing of the bells, and a toast by the college’s president and spouse.

The local students who graduated with a bachelor’s degree are as follows: Tatiana Ivery of Amsterdam; Emma Stortecky of Fort Plain; and Alexandra VanAernam of Johnstown.

SARATOGA SPRINGS — Migdalia Crego of Amsterdam, was among the State University of New York Empire State College undergraduate students named to the dean’s list in the spring semester.

The dean’s list recognizes the academic achievement of undergraduate students, semester by semester. To qualify for this distinction, undergraduate students at SUNY ESC must earn a grade point average of 3.75 or higher in a given term.

ALBANY — The local students have been named to the dean’s list for spring semester at The College of St. Rose are as follows: Kiara Alicea of Amsterdam, Katelyn Ashe of Dolgeville, Trevor Bowerman of Canajoharie, Abigail Countryman of St. Johnsville, Briana Dean of Johnstown, Shelby Dopp of Mayfield, Ashley Eaves of Fultonville, Jenna Forsey of Northville, Kyleigh Gailor and Jillian Gorzycki, both of Amsterdam; Sarah Green of Johnstown, Celine Gustas of Amsterdam, Kaylee Hampton and Katelyn Harrington, both of Mayfield; Olivia Idzikowski of Amsterdam, Patricia Leto of Fort Johnson, Nahl Mahmood of Amsterdam, Camryn Meca of Mayfield, Dominic Meola of Amsterdam, Gregory Meyers of Canajoharie, Emily Miles of Gloversville, Sophie Pentecost of Amsterdam, Hannah Putman of Johnstown, Shirley Ross of Gloversville, Erica Vickers of Amsterdam.

The full-time undergraduate students who complete a minimum of 12 graded credit hours, and who achieve a semester average of 3.5 with no D, F, or incomplete grade, are eligible for the dean’s list.

HAMDEN, Conn. — The Broadalbin students graduated with degrees from Quinnipiac University are as follows: Alesia Bousa, a master’s in public relations; Caroline Conti, a naster of business administration.

PENSACOLA, Fla. — The local students named to the dean’s list by Dr. Troy Shoemaker, president of Pensacola Christian College, for academic achievement during the spring semester are as follows: Ethan Bramer of Canajoharie, Wyatt Taylor of Fort Plain.

HARRISONBURG, Va. — Jacob Darling of Dolgeville, has been named to the dean’s list at James Madison University for the spring semester. The students who earn dean’s list honors must carry at least 12 graded credit hours and earn a grade point average of between 3.5 and 3.899. Darling is a sport and recreation management major.
