SARATOGA SPRINGS — Eight students from Fulton County were selected to participate in the New York State School Music Association’s Zone 7 Area All-State Festival. The festival took place at Saratoga Springs High School on Nov. 15 and 16.

Students practiced with other local students on Friday evening and Saturday morning. The festival concluded with a concert on Saturday. The groups consisted of top music students from Hamilton, Warren, Washington, Rensselaer, Albany, Schenectady, Saratoga, Montgomery and Fulton counties. To be considered for selection in the Area-All State ensembles, students had to score very highly at the NYSSMA solo festival this past spring followed by an application process.
