AMSTERDAM — United Way of Montgomery County welcomed a group from the new Dollar Genera Distribution Center located on Route 5S.

The group — led by Elijah Braemer, senior human resources manager — came to introduce Dollar General to the local United Way and present a donation.

To commemorate the opening that is coming soon, Braemer presented a check to Fred Quist, United Way of Montgomery County director, for $5,000.

“We at Dollar General look forward to being part of the Greater Amsterdam Community. We know that United Way is great way to support the needs of the community and we are happy to help,” Braemer said.

United Way of Montgomery County, located at 1166 Riverfront Center in Amsterdam, has served the Montgomery County community since 1941, providing necessary funding to Health and Human service agencies in Montgomery County.
