∫ Sacandaga Valley Arts Network Artists’ Gallery Exhibit: Fulton County Visitor Center, Routes 29 and 30, Vail Mills. Free and open to the public. Gallery is open weekends.

∫ Fourth annual New York state summer art show: Paul Nigra Center for Creative Arts, 2736 Route 30, Gloversville, with artists from across the state. The artwork will be on display through Oct. 23. The public is welcome to view the show from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. Monday through Friday; and from 9 a.m. to noon Saturday. Open to the public; free-will donations will be accepted — (518) 661-9932.

Craft fair

Saturday and Sunday

∫ Fort Klock, Route 5 in St. Johnsville, will be hosting it’s 47 annual craft fair. Hours are 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Saturday and 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. on Sunday. Free admission.



∫ Six week dance session with Sue Kaupelis: Paul Nigra Center for the Creative Art, 2736 Route 30, Gloversville, 6 to 7 p.m.


∫ Free beginner lessons and dancing: Sharp Shooters Billiards and Sports Pub, 35 E. Main St., Amsterdam, 6:30 to 7:30 p.m. New lessons and open dancing 7:30 to 10 p.m. $5 for those who stay or come in after 7:30 p.m. Sue Kaupelis, instructor.



∫ Erie Canal Beer and Wine Festival, 44 Bridge St., from 3 to 6 p.m. General admission tickets $40; VIP tickets $60 and designated driver admission $10. ∫ ItaliaFest, along Bridge Street in Amsterdam, noon to 9:30 p.m. The event will include Italian food, vendors, free amusement park rides and carnival games, bounce houses, food and drink specials. A DJ and live music will go on all day with Louie and Lisa Velez playing from 1 to 2:30 p.m.; Music for Life from 3 to 5 p.m. and Doug Ferony from 6:30 to 9 p.m. A free photo booth and games of chance will be available. A spaghetti eating contest at 6 p.m. and the evening will end with a fireworks show at 9 p.m.

Participants share ideas, tips, and bring knitting, crocheting, needlepoint, embroidery, beading, felting, and other individual, fiber-based projects to work on in casual setting. Open to the public. ∫ Photography exhibit reception at the Gloversville Public Library, 58, E. Fulton St. from 4 to 6 p.m. As part of National Recovery Month, the library is hosting a photography exhibit for the month of September featuring works by people in recovery, families, and those who have lost a loved one. The event is hosted by the Rob Constantine Recovery Community and Outreach Center.


∫ Author Michael Davi will visit the Gloversville Public Library, 58 E. Fulton St. from 6 to 7 p.m. in the Carnegie Room. David is the author of PrivileGEd on his experience at General Electric. He is a retired GE engineer.
