AMSTERDAM — St. Mary’s Healthcare Auxiliary installed its 2019 officers at a banquet recently at the Bridge Walk at the Perthshire.

The officers are Linda Naple, president; Terri Nowicki, vice president; Andrea Clare, secretary; Diane Juliano, treasurer; and Erika Kuiber, historian.

The event was coordinated by co-chairwomen Paula Phillips and Kathleen Smith and the Installation of officers was conducted by past presidents Jerri Cortese and Mary Koller.

New members welcomed were Margaret Brodie, Bri Giulianelli, Kelly Flewelling, Agnes Hernandez and Tammy Wilson.

Committee members Audrey Sears and Marilyn Van Allen thanked outgoing board members Marcia Russo and Lorrie Tesiero for their contribution of time and dedication to the auxiliary’s mission and goals.

Sr. Joan Mary Hartigan, vice president of mission integration, and Bri Giulianelli, executive director of St. Mary’s Foundation, offered an update on various 2018-19 fundraisers and upcoming events.

A $40,000 donation from the auxiliary was presented by Linda Naple to Sister Hartigan to be used to furnish the waiting room of the new St. Mary’s obstetrics and gynecology and prenatal clinic offices relocating to the Medical Office Building on Guy Park Avenue.

Members were recognized for their ongoing support through efforts such as support for Complementary Therapies programs, financial support for the Cribs for Kids program through the Maternity Unit, and collecting needed items for prenatal clinic patients. It was also noted that the auxiliary co-sponsors the annual breast health luncheon and the Center for Complementary Therapies annual conference.

Members were reminded to visit the Auxiliary’s “YOUnique Boutique” Gift Shop, the renovated shop now carrying a selection of women’s clothing, accessories and gifts for men, women and children. Proceeds from the shop, along with the yearly Christmas In November Home Tour, the annual gala ball, and the Light A Light Festival, provide major funding toward the auxiliary’s financial commitment to the needs of St. Mary’s patients and staff.

Begun in 1921, the auxiliary will celebrate its 100th anniversary in 2021. Over the course of the auxiliary’s history, pledges have been made to every hospital department and support has been given for many hospital programs, as well as funding the Hospital Stair Tower in the Ambulatory Care addition and a donation toward the Rao Outpatient Building.
