Montgomery County events set

CANAJOHARIE — The following are Montgomery County events which will take place Friday, according to a news release.

∫ At 10 a.m. the Arts Factory of Montgomery County members show will take place at the Arkell Museum, 2 Erie Blvd. The cost — the admission to the regional art galleries is free. The museum admission is $9 for adults; $6.50 for seniors and students; and free for members and children younger than 11.

The Arkell Museum and Canajoharie Library Regional Art Galleries welcome visitors to a show of fine art by members of the Arts Factory of Montgomery County. Formed in 2011, The Arts Factory is a non-profit organization whose mission is “To support, encourage and cultivate local artists, artisans and venues of the Mohawk Valley.”

The paintings and sculpture in the show will be on display through July 24. The public is invited to attend a reception with participating artists present from 5 to 7 p.m. June 5.

The Museum, Regional Art Galleries and Library are open from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Tuesday, Thursday and Friday; from 10 a.m. to 7:30 p.m. Wednesday; from noon to 5 p.m. Saturday and Sunday.

∫ From 4:30 to 6:30 p.m. will be Pick of the Pots (POPs): A members-only spring plant sale preview party at the Landis Arboretum, 174 Lape Road, Esperance, Schoharie and Montgomery counties. The event is free to members.

The spring plant sale kicks off with the POPs members-only preview and plant sale. The members have first choice of available plants, plus complimentary snacks and beverages. POPs is an event when old friends meet once and introduce new ones to an Arboretum tradition. Anyone who is not a member can be helped to join at the gate.
