Chronic disease self-management class set for Tuesday at center

JOHNSTOWN — The HealthLink Littauer, the community health and wellness service of Nathan Littauer Hospital and Nursing Home, has a program, “Chronic Disease Self-Management” that will take place from 9:30 a.m. to noon Tuesday at the Shirley J. Luck Senior Citizens Center,109 E. Main St., according to a news release.

This program is specifically designed for anyone with an ongoing health condition such as diabetes, heart disease, Chronic Obstructive Pulmonary Disease, chronic pain, obesity, depression, anxiety or for those who are caring for someone with an ongoing health issue. Those attending will learn how to better manage their condition to improve their overall health and quality of life, the news release stated.

This free program is open to the general public. Gift card incentives will be available for attendance. The classes will meet once each week for six weeks through June 12. The space is limited — to attend, call HealthLink Littauer at (518) 736-1120, the news release stated.
