Family Fun Day set for Aug. 7

SPECULATOR — The Hamilton County Youth Board will present its Seventh Annual Family Fun Day on Aug. 7 at the Speculator Ball Field/Pavilion from 2 to 6 p.m.

The event is free, but donations are accepted. Bring a non-perishable food item to be donated to local food pantries. There will be a variety of activities for children.

The theme is superheroes.

Activities throughout the day will include bounce houses, balloon artists, face painting, zoo animals, a K-9 demonstration and games.

Music and entertainment will be provided by DJ Andy Pratt. Food and beverages will be available for purchase by the Speculator Fire Department.

Family Fun Day is an opportunity to showcase local organizations that provide services throughout the county and surrounding areas, a news release said.

Each table will have information, a family game or activity, and a chance to win a prize.

After the event, the Indian Lake Theater will show a family movie at 7:30 p.m. Tickets cost $7 for adults and $5 for children younger than 18.

Concessions will be available for purchase.

To make a donation to Family Fun Day, make checks payable to HFM Prevention Council, 86 Briggs St., Suite 5, Johnstown, NY 12095, with the memo, Family Fun Day.

This event is alcohol-, tobacco- and gambling-free and is sponsored by the Hamilton County Youth Board.
