Wilkinson adult day health program reopens
AMSTERDAM – After a 15-month hiatus, St Mary’s Healthcare recently announced that its Wilkinson Adult Day Health Program, which is located in the Wilkinson Residential Healthcare Facility at 4988 State Highway 30, has resumed its services and has reopened in accordance with New York State regulations.
Since the Wilkinson Adult Day Health Program temporary closed in March 2020 due to government COVID restrictions, program participants have been anxious for the program to resume.
According to Cindy Bennice, Manager of Wilkinson Activities and Adult Day Health Services, many program participants and family members have been calling her office every day asking when the program would resume.
Due to the current New York State regulations the program has an enrollment limit of 12 participants, however; the Adult Day Health team remains optimistic about accepting additional participants soon.
First opening in 1972, the Adult Day Health Program at the Wilkinson Residential Healthcare Facility offers adults in Fulton and Montgomery counties an opportunity to participate in an exceptional day program at an at-will basis.
The program is intended to engage people interested in an active social lifestyle and to meet the medical needs of those who may need extra care and assistance in a secure setting.
