Game day slated for Stratford Seniors

STRATFORD — The Stratford Seniors group is open to anyone 50 years of age or older from any town. The dues are $12 a year and those who join will receive the benefits of discounted trips, discounted/free meals and the camaraderie of people. Before deciding to join, those interested can come to any of the meetings below to see how they like it.

Tuesday will be game day at Stratford Town Hall Bring own lunch and maybe something to share. Gather at 11 a.m., socialize over lunch, and then spend the afternoon playing the game(s) of choice.

Feb. 11: A regular meeting day at Stratford Town Hall. The seniors gather anytime after 11 a.m. Their actual meeting starts at noon with the Pledge of Allegiance and a short devotion and prayer. Then they eat — this month will be homemade soup, bread and dessert made by their members. The guest for this meeting will be Tiffany Rutkowski, who will be doing a presentation on flowers. Bring Valentine cards to exchange. Changes in the bylaws will be reviewed. Bring a list of at least 10 places the seniors can go to sell space for their craft fair book.

Feb. 18: Game day — same as above.

Feb. 25: The place to eat for the traveling lunch.

The bunch will be The Borunda Buffet, South Main Street, Herkimer. The group gathers around 11:30 a.m. and orders about noon.
